What is Bilt and why am I being asked to use it?
UWM has partnered with Bilt to offer homebuyers a first-of-its kind mortgage rewards program. Bilt is more than just a servicing platform. It’s a rewards program designed to make your mortgage payments work harder for you. By paying your mortgage on-time and digitally through Bilt, you’ll not only enjoy a secure and convenient way to manage your payments but you’ll also earn Bilt Points. These points can be redeemed for travel, fitness, shopping or toward your principal-only mortgage payments.
Is Bilt affiliated with UWM?
UWM and Bilt have partnered together to bring you something new: rewards for paying your mortgage on-time and digitally through Bilt. Your loan is still with UWM, but by making payments through Bilt you can earn points that can be redeemed for travel, shopping, fitness and more.
Registration & Required Setup
Do I have to register with Bilt?
To access your loan information and mortgage documents, you must register with Bilt, regardless of whether you want to set up payments. Registration is quick and easy, and it is the only way to view your loan details and documents. Once registered, you can also make digital one-time payments and set up recurring mortgage payments. Additionally, you can earn rewards for on-time digital payments made through bilt.com/uwm or the Bilt app. If you choose not to register with Bilt, you will still be able to make payments via check or over the phone, but you will not have digital access to your loan information or mortgage documents, and these payment methods will not earn rewards.
What information will I need to access my loan?
To access your loan, you’ll need to provide your phone number and email address, along with the following information exactly as it appears on your mortgage documents which can be found in your closing package: - First and last name - Date of birth - Social security number
Can all borrowers register for Bilt and start earning rewards?
All borrowers who are on the loan can register and access their loan in Bilt. However, only the Bilt account that has payments set up can earn and redeem rewards for on- time digital payments.
Can a borrower and a co-borrower split payments between both of their accounts to make one full month’s payment?
No, we currently do not accept partial payments. The full monthly payment must be received from a single payment source (e.g., bank account).
What if I have multiple properties or loans with UWM?
Any loan that has received a notification indicating it is now on the Bilt servicing platform will be automatically added to your account once you register and access your loan with Bilt. If you have a loan that is still on the former UWM servicing platform, please continue making payments and accessing documents through that platform until you receive a notification that your loan has been transitioned to Bilt. Only loans on the Bilt platform that are set up with on-time digital payments are eligible to earn rewards.
Do I need to download the Bilt app or can I pay on their website?
Whichever method you prefer. To access your loan and set up payments, visit bilt.com/uwm or download the Bilt app through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Can I enroll in paperless communication?
Yes! You can choose the paperless option during the initial account setup. You can also modify your settings at any time after the account setup by navigating to My Loan > Documents > Manage Delivery Preferences. There, you can select which documents you would like to receive electronically.
After I register and access my loan with Bilt, can I still access my information through the old site and use my old login information?
No, once you have registered and accessed your loan with Bilt, your mortgage information will only be available through the Bilt platform, and you will use your Bilt login going forward. Bilt offers a streamlined, modern experience with everything in one place, including easy access to payments, statements and documents, plus the added bonus of tracking and redeeming your rewards. also modify your settings at any time after the account setup by navigating to My Loan > Documents > Manage Delivery Preferences. Can I still use the My UWM Loan app to make payments?
Once you receive a notification that you are ready to access your loan in Bilt, you will no longer be able to make payments through the My UWM Loan app. You will need to register and access your loan through Bilt to set up payments and start earning rewards. Documents > Manage Delivery Preferences. There, you can select which documents you would like to receive electronically.
Payment Setup & Autopay
How do I set up my mortgage payment through Bilt?
Setting up your mortgage payment through Bilt is easy! You can choose from several options, including ACH (which directly withdraws payments from your bank account), credit card, or debit card. Once you’ve registered and accessed your loan, simply go to the “Payment” tab on your dashboard to set up auto pay or make a one-time payment.
How do I set up recurring payments through my bank account?
Setting up recurring payments is simple and has no additional fees. To set up ACH (which directly withdraws payments from your bank account), you’ll first need to connect your bank account. To link and verify your bank account, you can either connect securely and instantly through Plaid or manually add your bank account which can take up to 48 hours. If you link via Plaid, you’ll be prompted to select your financial institution and enter your online banking login and password to connect the account. If you manually link your bank account, Bilt will initiate two small deposits, usually less than $1 each, into your bank account. These random amounts are used to confirm account ownership. The deposits will appear in your bank account within 24-48 hours. Once you see these deposits, log into your Bilt account, navigate to Wallet > Bank Accounts, and enter the exact deposit amounts to complete the verification process. This secure method ensures your bank account ownership is verified without directly sharing personal banking credentials.
Can I make my payment with a credit card?
Yes, most payments can be made with a credit card, and you have two options: - Pay with Bilt Mastercard: No transaction fee, and you can easily apply directly on Bilt's website - Pay with non-Bilt Mastercard (only Mastercard accepted): A 3% transaction fee will be added to your payment amount. Please note that there are some limitations when using a credit card to pay your mortgage, including specific types of mortgages, prior mortgage payment history, and the current status of your loan.
Can I make my payment with a debit card?
Yes, both Mastercard Debit and Visa Debit are accepted payment options. Debit card payments will incur a transaction fee of $9.95.
How do I update my payment method or bank account in Bilt?
Once you have registered and accessed your loan, you can update your payment method within Bilt at any time on the “Wallet” tab. If you change your payment method by adding a new bank account, you will need to connect securely and instantly through Plaid or manually add your bank account, which may take up to 48 hours. If you link via Plaid, you’ll be prompted to select your financial institution and enter your online banking login and password to connect the account. Can I call in to make a payment?
Yes, you can call anytime to make a one-time payment by calling our Customer Care team at 888-896-9658. However, you will not earn points for payments made over the phone. Only on-time digital payments made through Bilt will earn points. The first time you call to make a payment over the phone, you will need to provide your bank account information. This information will be stored for future payments made over the phone. Please note that any bank account information stored in the Bilt portal will not be accessible to the agent on the phone.
What happens if I already have autopay set up with UWM?
Once you receive a notification that you are ready to access your loan in Bilt, your current autopay, including those set up through ACH (withdraws payments directly from your bank account, will not automatically transfer over and will need to be set up again with Bilt. To add your bank account, you will need to connect securely and instantly through Plaid or manually add your bank account, which may take up to 24 hours. If you link via Plaid, you’ll be prompted to select your financial institution and enter your online banking login and password to connect the account. Payments, Fees & Rewards
Are there any fees for using Bilt?
There are no fees to use Bilt; however, the payment method you select may result in additional charges. There are no extra fees for recurring or one-time ACH payments (directly withdrawn from your bank account) made through Bilt, or when you pay with a Bilt credit card. Additional fees will apply for payments made with a Mastercard credit card or a Mastercard or Visa debit card. - Mastercard credit card payments do incur a 3% fee on top of your payment amount. Be aware that due to the size of an individual’s mortgage payment, your credit card provider may initially decline or flag this payment. - Mastercard Debit and Visa Debit card payments will incur a processing fee of $9.95.
Can I earn rewards or points by paying through Bilt?
Yes. You can earn Bilt rewards points each time you make an on-time digital mortgage through Bilt.
What types of payments will not earn me points?
Only on-time digital payments made through Bilt will earn points. Payments that will not earn points include: - Late payments - Mailed checks - Payments made over the phone - Payments made via BillPay through your bank - Principal-only payments - Fee-only payments - Escrow-only payments
What can I redeem my points for?
Points can be redeemed for everyday neighborhood benefits such as restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, travel and more. Additionally, you can use your points toward extra principal-only mortgage payments or apply them toward the down payment on your next home.
How will I stay informed about my reward points and other benefits?
You will receive emails and notifications about your reward points and benefits within the Bilt app. Your points bank will also be visible at the top of your Bilt dashboard on the app and on your desktop.
Will there be resources available to understand the rewards program better?

If you’re not enrolled in paperless, your 1098 will be mailed to the address on file.
How can I access documents that were on my previous portal?
Once you have registered and accessed your loan with Bilt, all your mortgage documents will be automatically transferred for you. You'll easily find everything in one place by logging into your Bilt account and navigating to "My Loan" and selecting "Documents".
After I register and claim my loan with Bilt, can I still access my information through the old site and use my old login information?
No, once you have registered and claimed your loan with Bilt, your mortgage information will only be available through the Bilt platform, and you will use your Bilt login going forward.
